One of the things I've wanted to do for some time was give people the ability to un-subscribe from the Public "Announcements" forum if they wanted to.  This forum was set up such that email would be sent to any user registered on the web site (users with the "Registered User" security role).  That role (or access level) cannot be removed, which gave users no way to un-subscribe.

It finally occured to me that I could simply add a new role and subscribe everyone to it, but allow them to remove it if they wished.  I created a new "Annoucements" role, and made it "Public", which allows users to remove it if they wish.  When I created it, I designated it as "Auto", which means everyone gets this role when they register.  I thought I would then have to add it to all the users, but DNN did that for me, all I had to do was delete it from the "newsletter only" users.

I also changed the option in User Accounts to display the "Manage Services" tab when users access their profile.
