On Wednesday morning, January 31st, we get treated to an excellent TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE.   (And a Blue Moon.  And a Super Moon -- if you are at all interested in that, too!)

Partial stage (first bite out of the Moon) begins at 3:48am PST.  Totality begins at 4:51am.  End of totality is at 6:07am.  Ending partial stages continue to moonset (and therefore sunrise).  At present, weather is looking promising.

FOOTHILL COLLEGE OBSERVATORY will open for public viewing at 4am (weather permitting).  You can check our webcam at  http://www.pastro.org/dnn/Observato...160;  on eclipse morning to see if the obsertvatory is open.  The Observatory is located next to the KRAUSE CENTER, near Lot #4 on the Foothill College Campus in Los Altos Hills.  Details and a campus map available at -   http://www.pastro.org/dnn/Observato...160;
